    Did you know fences are one of the most common ways that wildfires spread to homes? Separate fences from your home with a non-combustible section, like a metal gate, for the first 5’ where a fence attaches to the house.

  • How Will You Be Warned if a Wildfire Threatens Marin?

    Marin’s emergency warning system is called Alert Marin. Residents need to sign up at AlertMarin.org. In the event of a wildfire, residents will get one of 3 alerts. An Evacuation ORDER means leave now. An Evacuation WARNING is issued when a wildfire may threaten your location soon. An alert to SHELTER IN PLACE means that the safest place for you at the moment is to stay where you are.
